Jennifer Hamiton
Company Manager
I have worked with TRS since 2005, perennially dividing my time between the theatre and my studies. I took over as company manager in 2008. In 2006 I became Front of House Manager and received a first class honours degree in English Literature (writing on the work of Caryl Churchill). In 2007 worked as Business Development Manager with TRS and commenced a PhD in English and Women’s Studies. My thesis is on the relationship between dramatic structures and meteorology (i.e. thunder, rain, snow, wind). I’ve also worked as a tutor, casual lecturer and research assistant at UNSW. My research interests include tragedy, contemporary British and Australian drama, meteorological history, and critical theory (gender, queer, narrative, poststructuralist). Prior to all this I completed a combined Art History & Theory/Arts Degree at CoFA and UNSW, whilst working on some other independent theatre projects: Halel el Mashakel, Bedtime for Bastards and What the Butler Saw! (Pesto Manifesto), Write Now!, Top Shorts! The Coming of Stork and Dole Diary (NTC), Kitchen (Pardytime), Julius Caesar (Fly on the Wall). I am a bike rider, rock climber and I grew up in Wollongong – the steel city.
