WOOJam started in the bowels of Bar Me’s El Rocco in Kings Cross in 2005.
What began as an open mic night, a casual evening to have a strum, sing and “woo!” with might, became a happening, an underground cult hit, as people jammed, sang, danced and partied every second Monday, shaking Bar Me to its very foundations.
It was an opportunity for bedroom bangers to play in front of an audience that was as supportive as your
mum.

From its humble beginnings, WOOJam gave birth to a new generation of Sydney artistes. It spawned an artistic community that favoured warmth, talent and a
sense of humour, over cynicism and industry cool.

Many of the artists who graced the WOOJam stage went on to record albums and perform around Sydney, Australia and overseas.

And now we’re bringing her back for one night only! It’s a special WOOvaganza to coincide with the CuBBYHOuSE good times at the Old Fitzroy Theatre.
